Built for tight mountain streams and wild trout, The Brookie Basher is a purpose-built small-stream weapon designed through an exclusive collaboration between Mr. Ant’s Rods and Fleeger’s Flies. At 6’6” in a 2-weight, this rod was created for anglers who love chasing native brook trout in skinny water where precision, feel, and finesse matter most.

The shorter length allows for effortless casts under overhanging limbs, through tight rhododendron tunnels, and into pockets most rods simply can’t reach. The light 2WT design delivers delicate presentations that won’t spook wary fish, while still providing enough backbone to handle surprisingly strong trout in small water.

The olive green blank was intentionally chosen to blend into natural surroundings, helping anglers stay stealthy and avoid spooking wary trout in crystal-clear headwater streams. The rod’s color scheme is inspired by the vibrant colors of a brook trout, complemented by elegant wraps and a striking custom marbled reel seat insert that reflects the wild beauty of the fish this rod was designed to chase.

Finished with custom script and the Mr. Ant’s Rods x Fleeger’s Flies branding, this rod is both a serious fishing tool and a collector’s piece.

You can also have your name custom added to the rod. Simply include the name you’d like on the rod in the notes section at checkout, and it will be incorporated into the rod build.

Warranty: If a section of your rod is broken, it can be replaced for a nominal fee. Current replacement pricing is $100 for the handle section and $55 per section for any of the remaining three sections.
