The Jack Daniel’s is a Cory Cuje original pattern that has quickly become one of his confidence flies. I can see why, after fishing it for a few weeks and never failing to get results. It’s a little bit of a generic, non-flashy, no big hot spot bug, ideal for when you encounter clear water & sunny days or fishing pressured streams. The Jack Daniel’s checks all those boxes. It can represent a Mayfly, Caddis or even a small Stonefly. It has the fast sinking attributes of a Perdigon with the movement of a soft hackle. That little bit of flash is just enough to get them interested, then the slim profile & no-nonsense silhouette does the rest. Making this a great fly to fish when you’re just not sure what the trout are likely to take!
