Shio Kosho Kebari

$2.00

Built for versatility and control, the Shio Kosho Kebari is a traditional Futsu-style tenkara fly known for its balance, simplicity, and effectiveness. “Shio Kosho” translates to “salt and pepper,” a nod to its speckled, peppery appearance—typically tied with neutral tones, dark thread, and upright, stiff hackle that gives it a bold, upright posture in the water.

Unlike the Sakasa-style kebari, which use soft, forward-facing hackle to create movement during pulsing or drifting, Futsu flies like the Shio Kosho are designed to hold their position in turbulent or fast-flowing currents. The stiff hackle helps the fly “anchor” in the water, offering a consistent silhouette and natural resistance that mimics emerging or drifting insects.
